Inspired Choices

There are so many beautiful, inspirational kitchen designs out there. I want to use everyone of them, kind of like wanting to bake all the desserts on Pinterest.

Kidding aside creating a story board will help to bring all the details together. Anybody who has built a home or has done major renovations knows that there are a many decisions to be made. Organizing all those choice in one place will help visualize the design elements in your space.

The story board below are the design detail that Don and I will be using for our kitchen remodel. We have to stretch our budget big time, so being thrifty influenced some inspired choices.  Let's face it we bought a big old house and are remodeling with a "out of pocket" budget.

Keeping to our non-budget for this remodel is not easy, we don't have a huge kitchen to stock, but found that the 4 base cabinets alone ran an average of $2000. In fact all the other kitchen "must haves" added $$$ too. 
For fun lets compare the costs of our 1st choices vs. Inspired choices

In all fairness the 1st choices are med-price range. I think for a total kitchen remodels, this doesn't seem crazy bad for someone who had a real budget.

Problem: We don't have $14,250 handy 😢
Solution: Creative cutbacks = $10,081 in savings!! Yeah!!


That's great because we have more windows to replace, a large farmers porch to build, more painting, and siding to replace this summer.
